The Balder 48 represents a natural evolution of a collaboration that began with the successful styling of the Balder 28. Following the strong reception of that model, we were commissioned to develop the larger Balder 38 and flagship 48 — shaping a cohesive family within the luxury adventure segment.

Positioned in a category populated by respected names such as Axopar, Saxdor, and XO, the Balder 48 was conceived to establish a distinct and recognisable identity. Rather than following prevailing minimal trends, the design embraces bold, confident proportions – combining muscular, bulky volumes with refined, stylised detailing. The character of the boat is expressed through strong surface transitions, purposeful stance, and a layout that reinforces both protection and openness. Design language is carried consistently throughout the vessel, from the architectural arrangement of spaces to the custom Esthec nautical decking pattern developed specifically for the brand — adding another layer of recognisable identity underfoot.

The result is a 48-foot platform that communicates capability and luxury in equal measure – a modern adventure yacht with a clearly defined visual signature.
